Six Months until September 22nd

It's amazing how time flies when you need to work like a real grown up adult. Three weeks since my last posting and not a lot has changed in terms of what's been accomplished. We have started to figure out two additional major components: Invitations and Tables/Chairs. I won't show you what either look like because that would spoil the surprise.

Our wedding theme is some-what rustic and vintage. Many items will be hand constructed for a reason. The wedding will take place in a green house, with the ceremony in the palms room. Oh yes, it's all taking shape.

A bigger part that we're waiting for is the actual floor plan from the caterer for the palms room. We know the room obviously, the size, that 75 people can fit inside, etc. Considering the folks at Chowgirls catering have worked in the room before, they have a pretty good idea of how the layout should be. We just need this layout from them before we move forward with the folks responsible for bringing us the tables and chairs.

There are things we know for certain: Where Jenn and I will get ready for the wedding, where she'll walk from inside of cowles, how the aisle will be formed inside the palms room, what the decor of the room will be, the lighting, the exact spot where we'll say "I Do, Dude", plus several other details.

We have given ourselves a deadline. We want to be finished with everything by the very end of June. That will give us roughly three months to relax as much as possible and not have to worry about the wedding. All the pieces are coming together.

For a basic list of what we do and do not have done, you can see our previous blog post.

That should do it for now!

Wedding Progress

It's nearly six months until our Wedding -- September 22nd, 2012. Let us not freak out. We have made a lot of progress; and by we I mostly mean Jenn. During the bulk of the early Wedding prep stages I was busy working on my film NICOTINE. But the month of March, and beyond, will be different.

We won't be the type of people that make a mad dash to figure everything out within the final month or so before the wedding. March will be busy with us working a lot and my movie progress, but also in terms of the wedding. While we still have plenty of things to work out, the following have been accomplished / nearly accomplished / decided.

- The Dress has been purchased -- don't worry, I am not allowed to see it until Jenn walks down the aisle
- Samantha's dress has been purchased.
- The Wedding Site -- Cowles Conservatory / Palms Room, is a lock for ceremony and reception.
- Design of the room during the ceremony -- basically figured out.
- Chowgirls Catering -- the food has been figured out.
- Registries. Amazon and Target.
- Wedding favors -- need to be built; will be awesome.
- Photography -- Knickerbocker and Vokracka -- sounds like a law firm.
- Center pieces (for tables) -- these are coming together. Need to be constructed.
- Save the Date (sent out)
- Flowers -- they'll be the most amazing things you've ever seen.
- Music, The God Damn Doo Wop Band  -- more than likely. Details need to be arranged yet.
- First Dance song has been selected.
- Cake. Hannah Botzet will be constructing the cake.

- Honeymoon location picked.

What's Left:
- Suits for Myself, Corey, Rick and Chris -- this task will be worked on in May. I will shop around soon, mostly to find prices and colors.
- Dresses for Joan and Jan.
- Who will officiate the Wedding? Still waiting to hear back from Jorge Garcia and Jeff Fahey.
- Liquor -- we haven't decided on how much we're gonna let you all drink.
- Corey's Best Man Speech. I don't know what he's gonna say, but Corey said, "I gotta make 'em cry."
- Wedding invitations need to be designed and constructed -- this will need to be done soon.
- Tables / chairs rental -- we're waiting to hear back from the caterer, who has a floor-plan that's great for the space available at Cowles.

• Due to the space at Cowles, specifically the Palms Room, we'll only be allowed to invite 75 guests. We're looking at keeping the wedding fairly intimate, inviting our family and closest friends. We realize that we have about 34,000 people that want to go very badly, but it just won't work out.

I'm sure there are things I'm forgetting, but this is everything that came to me at the moment.
